The Best Way to Support your Root Chakra

The Best Way to Support your Root Chakra

Blessings! I am the Owner of Reiki Starseed Healer, my name is Krista Kaminski. I have been a Nurse since 2004, single mother of two, now adult children, a dog named Mocha and I live in Texas. I received my MA in Transpersonal Psychology and have researched “alternative” methods to heal myself for the last two decades. With the education, medical background and years of personal experience utilizing multiple remedies from a very wide range of sources, I have decided to begin a monthly blog to share this with others.

I will be writing on topics that come from a Transpersonal approach when discussing Dis-Ease in the mind, body and soul. These will range from Chakras, Reiki Starseed Energy/Frequency Healing Technique, Kundalini Yoga, Quantum Healing through Chanting Mantra, Yoga Nidra, Certification in Reiki, Psychic Spiritual Sessions, Essential Oils and Plant Medicine Support. My Tribe members are also encouraged to submit topics upon signing up, to learn more about this membership offering, click here.

In January's monthly blog, I will be discussing the best way to support your Root Chakra through multiple transpersonal modalities. We will look at what a chakra is, the “need to know '' aspects of the Root Chakra, Dis-Ease’s that can arise through an unbalanced Root Chakra, and how to best support this Chakra. I have decided to concentrate on tools that have best supported me throughout the years. These will include Crystals, doTERRA essential oil blends specifically for balancing the root chakra on top of a few specialized blends for specific emotions that are predominant in supporting your Root Chakra. As well as Chanting/Meditations, Reiki and Kundalini Yoga.

I have read many books that have been written by Anodea Judith, along with practicing under Guru Rattana, Ph.D. Much of the information that I will be talking about, derived from these amazing women's teachings or have come through intuitively.

What Is a Chakra?

The Sanskrit word Chakra literally translates to wheel or disk. In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body, which absorb life force or prana from the Universe, and are distributed through the body's energy channels, or nadis, to the nervous system, endocrine glands and circulation system.

There are seven main chakras, which align the spine, starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head. To visualize a chakra in the body, imagine a swirling wheel of energy where matter and consciousness meet. This invisible energy, called Prana, is a vital life force, which keeps us vibrant, healthy, and alive.

The Chakras of Matter

The first three chakras, starting at the base of the spine, are chakras of matter. They are more physical in nature. The Root Chakra is considered the first main chakra.

First Chakra - The Muladhara is the chakra of stability, security, and our basic needs. It encompasses the first three vertebrae, the bladder, and the colon. When this chakra is open, we feel safe and fearless.

Root Chakra - Represents our foundation and feeling of being grounded, safe and secure in life.

Location - Base of spine in tailbone area.

Emotional issues - Survival issues such as financial independence, money and food. Unbalances can emit fearfulness, anxiety, obesity, underweight or weak immune systems.

Color - Red

Sanskrit name - Muladhara

Sound - LAM

Musical note -

 Crystals that Balance/Restore Chakras

Root Chakra- Hematite/Red Jasper

Red Jasper (The Supreme Nurturer and Stone of Endurance) -  stimulates the Base, or Root Chakra, located at the base of the spine, and controls the energy for kinesthetic feeling and movement. It is the foundation of physical and spiritual energy for the body. When physically out of balance the symptoms manifest themselves as lethargy, low levels of activity, low enthusiasm, and a need for constant stimulation. When spiritual energies are out of balance, one may feel flighty, disconnected from reality or distant. When the Base Chakra is in balance, the physical body regains its strength and stamina, and the spiritual energy is rekindled in the form of security and sense of one’s own power. It often leads to independence and spontaneous leadership.

Hematite (Stone for the Mind) - The Hematite crystal meaning is linked to its connection to the root chakra, the center of security and survival. By creating a strong sense of energetic stability, this crystal works to align, clear and balance your root chakra so you feel centered and secure. Not only do the Hematite crystal healing properties lend a sense of grounded-ness and stability, but they can also help you to feel energetically protected by guiding you to release any energies that may be destabilizing you.Hematite in your crystal healing first aid kit can clear away negative feelings from stress, anxiety, and worry. This crystal, works to pull any stray negative energy in the aura to the root chakra where it neutralizes its harmful effects by balancing and aligning all seven chakras.

Kundalini Yoga Root Chakra Kriya

Kundalini yoga is the yoga of awareness along with the technology to awaken your awareness and connect you to your higher self. Its a natural unfolding of your true self. Kundalini is the feminine form of the Sanskrit adjective meaning coiled. It activates the glandular system to help those organs secret properly along with creating metabolic balance. It also strengthens the nervous system.

The Root Chakra Kriya (set of exercises) specific for this month is called, "Awaken Body and Spine." It will focus on the Root Chakra and feeling alive in your body by creating your spine as your body's center. Self-centering makes it possible to create boundaries, to not be manipulated by outside forces, to maintain personal integrity and to take care of yourself.

This class will be 75-90 minutes and include a brief introduction, tune in, warm ups, kriya (set of exercises), meditation and deep relaxation that will have reiki infused energy flowing the entire time.  Click here to sign up. If you end up missing this live online session, I will be offering it to purchase here.

Lastly, I will be taking a deeper dive into these supportive tools discussed along with discussing more about specific chants, meditations and energy healing that one can facilitate daily when working with imbalances of the Root Chakra, on my Monthly Podcast.
